So tell me, fair readers: Let's say you were caught in some harrible (yes, harrible not horrible) snowstorm/blizzard and your pets are there & there is plenty of dry pet food, & random people are there - let's say 3-4, friends or strangers, I leave to you, and you're isolated w/ no hope of rescue for an indefinite amount of time (til the weather clears), so one of the other people dies, bad ticker, went for a walk & came back & the hypothermia got this person, whatever. So, with human food supplies dwindled to nothing do you eat the dead person or look to your beloved pets for sustenance?

I'm just curious.

***Cat, I love you like you know I do - you might be the dead one at my house, I just want u to know I wrote this then considered your special circumstances. & love you no matter what.

Well based on the whole, I would eat that plenty of dry pet food.;)

As for kill pets or dead person next- well I do not know that I could choose I would have to be there. I imagine for me it would be pets first.

Great Ethics question!

This question has come up before... a number of times, actually... and I always volunteer to die first. If there truly is no other food but meatstuffs, there's no reason for me to stick around. So, bon appetit!

There be no issue for me. The dead man be dead! He be a corpse! The pets still be alive. Though killin' a man te eat be a harsh thing, eatin' a pile of meat be no trouble at all.

I be a _scientist_. I do not think th' mate be needing his body whole for risin' with the rapture. It be a husk.

It be talk like a pirate day when I be writing this. I cannot keep the scottish and the pirate straight...

Yaaaaaaarrrrrrrgghhhhh... Here there be more mates like me. Feasting on the long pig...

Would it make a difference if we had fire to cook it?

Positively eat the human first, after pet food supply is gone. #1 there is more to go around, your pet won't provide very much for everyone. #2, have to agree that friend is already dead, different from killing pet for food. No real difference about fire, although cooked would be preferred for myself, it would at least look more like chicken. & I have to agree w/Brenda; GREAT QUESTION
