23:31 I saw it. The US mens 400m free relay demolish the world record & secure the gold. Started by Phelps with a recordbreaking split. I just stopped screaming - it was tight. If I find a link I'll post it - but you should go look - it was decided by .08 of a second. 400m of freestyle in 3:08:24. Mull that over for a bit.

OK - seriously go watch the finish. & time yourself 3:08:24 was all it took for those 4 men to swim 400m. Consider it for a while. Poetry in motion. & Phelps sits w/ his 8th Olympic gold medal. I say he nails at least a career total of 12 by the end of Beijing.
*and I know the pic is of Phelps in the fly, but it is so beautiful to watch him swim that.

I watched in my hotel room with Janna and by the time it was over we were jumping up and down like little girls. Made it hard to fall asleep after that one.
I had a fantastic response to your comments, and then I accidentally deleted it. I'm so pissed...I think your posting of the fly pic was not only one the most beautiful shots of Phelps. But also very appropriate after watching his performance tonight for his 3rd Gold medal of these games. Not to take any credit away from the other young man who was leading by a significant margin going into the final lap, but DAMN!!! When Phelps pushed off the wall for the last lap he shot off like a stealth bomber! Pacing himself for the final 50 meters and taking such a lead at the end just goes to show, again, how truly amazing he is. Not to mention, FUCKING GORGEOUS!!!
