Died. This makes me sad, seriously In a world without that exact voice telling me about other worlds I could be in right now. Don LaFontaine was a master at capturing my attention & soothing me to smiles.
He was a "not my job" guest on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (NPR) and that is the only time I've seen him specifically singled out, but it was great to finally learn that there was a single man behind "In a World..."
He did a commercial for Geico recently where he was actually on the screen sitting next to a someone making the story more "Hollywood" - he looked good. I always appreciated the way he took all of his work seriously & gave it his best.
